This week, our Head of Training and Development Peter Clarke embarked on a sponsored walk in aid of Walking With The Wounded, a charity that supports wounded ex servicemen and women.
Each year, the charity launches its Walking Home For Christmas campaign, which encourages fundraisers to take part in a sponsored walk over the festive period from their school or workplace to their home.
Peter pledged to walk from Leeds to Halifax to raise money for the cause. Leaving Leeds on the morning of 21st December, he walked a total of 10.7 miles before reaching Halifax. Undeterred by the rain, the journey took him approximately four hours in total — including a couple of stops on the way to collect some sponsorship and claim a well-deserved free chai latte from Java Joes!
A total of £705 has been raised for the cause so far, beating the original target of £500. Peter and the team at Global Partnership Training Academy would like to thank everyone who has donated!
